Responsibilities:
[Company] is looking for exceptional entry level Geotechnical Engineers! As part of a strategic recruiting initiative focused on future growth in targeted, high-growth geographic areas, we seek motivated, entry level Geotechnical Engineers with a Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering and an EIT. You will have some previous experience as a co-op student or intern. You will come from the greater Miami, FL area and have long-term interest in that region. You will, however, work at ECS for your first 1-2 years in one of our larger offices [Chantilly, VA, Charlotte or Wilmington, NC]. During this time you will become indoctrinated in the ECS culture and our methods of operation. Following your initial assignment you will relocate back to your ‘home’ location. To be considered for this initiative please submit your resume and a letter outlining what makes you special and why you should be considered for this program. Include your GPA [grade point average] in the letter please. If you do not include a letter highlighting your strengths and long term goals, you will not be considered. BSCE and PhD level candidates will not be considered. We seek only candidates with an MSCE degree in Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university in the United States.
As a geotechnical engineer/project manager you will be involved with management of geotechnical engineering projects and explorations, which consists of performing boring layouts, clearing utilities, supervising drill rigs, performing geophysical surveys, classifying soils, assigning lab testing, and preparing geotechnical reports. Projects include a wide variety of sites from residential developments to commercial and large industrial facilities. Work is also performed in the public sector; for cities, municipalities, and state and federal agencies. The firm maintains low barriers between departments and you may also be involved with construction materials testing projects. Additional responsibilities include assisting senior staff in marketing, preparing proposals, maintaining a client database, and managing budget proposals and invoices. You can expect to be involved with diverse and challenging projects in both the field and office.
Qualifications:
MS in geotechnical engineering REQUIRED.
0-1 years of geotechnical engineering experience required.
EIT required; potential for obtaining a PE license within 2-3 years is key for advancement.
Proficiency in oral and written communications.
Strong project management skills and an interest in marketing.
