Job Description
[Company] has an opening for a part time/on call Environmental Consultant specializing in asbestos/hazardous materials in our New Haven, CT office. As the successful candidate, you will have an enthusiastic, positive attitude with experience in performing asbestos abatement project monitoring and inspection projects of varying sizes. Possession of a strong technical education, field experience, professional demeanor and desire to learn is essential.
Job Requirements:
Associates or Bachelor degree in Science related field;
1 to 3 years of asbestos related experience;
Ability to read and understand project specifications, drawings and plans, hazardous materials inspection reports;
Thorough understanding of CT and Federal Asbestos Regulations;
Current CT asbestos project monitor and inspector licenses (or ability to obtain);
CT lead inspector license desired;
Experience in PCB inspections and abatement project monitoring a plus;
Experience in IAQ and mold inspections and sampling desired;
Ability to write asbestos/hazardous materials inspection reports and abatement monitoring completion reports;
AutoCad proficiency desired;
Reliable transportation to access job sites and a valid driver’s license in good standing;
Flexibility and ability to work normal business hours as well as off hours, weekends and holidays;
Ability to multi-task with field and office work; and,
Ability to work alone and with a team.
