[Company] Orlando, Florida office is seeking a Drainage Engineer / Senior Drainage Engineer to work in its Transportation/Highway Design Group.
Responsibilities:
The primary focus will be Drainage Design, Stormwater Management, and Permitting for transportation projects. This position will provide the opportunity to work on local projects in the central Florida region as well as projects throughout the state. The successful candidate will be client-focused and able to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team to meet challenging design and schedule requirements.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of drainage, stormwater management and related design experience;
Experience with FDOT design projects;
Experience in the design of drainage elements relating to highway projects including: hydrologic analysis, inlet design, storm sewer design, ditch and channel design, cross drain design, retention/detention basin design, water quality analysis, adequate outfall design;
Experience in Microstation, Geopak, AdICPR, HECRAS, Autocad, ArcGIS is preferred
Experience in the preparation of stormwater plans and permit applications for highway projects;
Experience in the preparation of technical documents such as: drainage criteria, drainage design reports, pond siting reports;
Experience in available drainage design software
Knowledge of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and Water Management Districts requirements and standards
Knowledge of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Standards and Criteria for Drainage Design, including the FDOT Drainage Manual;
Knowledge of FDOT Standards and Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, including plan development standards;
Ability to coordinate with other designers and/or technicians;
Ability to interpret and apply technical information contained in procedures and manuals to accomplish the design process for assigned projects;
Strong writing and verbal skills
