Job Description :
The Construction and Industrial Division is seeking a highly motivated Tooling Design Engineer to develop standard tools and processes to reduce rework cycles, support product optimization and improve new product launch speed. The position requires in depth knowledge of foundry processes, NX automation skills, and tooling design experience (corebox, pattern, rigging and methoding). C&I product knowledge is an advantage.
Job Duties:
Developing tooling for all C&I foundries
Developing global tooling standards across all C&I facilities
Improving tooling design and tool manufacturing speed
Working with casting products teams to optimize part designs for Design For Manufacturability
Developing standard Magma use parameters
Working with manufacturing teams and/or suppliers to ensure products meet quality requirements and are completed on time and on budget
Trouble shooting foundry issues with product design and tooling
Tooling build material selection
Job Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Must have at least 2 years of engineering work experience
Knowledge of pattern and corebox design preferred
NX modeling and automation experience preferred
Ability to reverse engineer tooling from laser scans preferred
Knowledge of Design for Manufacture and Lean Manufacturing principles preferred
Other Skills & Abilities:
[Company] experience with Agile tooling release process, Magma expertise, and knowledge of fit falsification of tooling preferred

Ability to effectively work with a diverse team
Effective communication, problem solving
Ability to travel up to 15% to manufacturing sites and pattern shops as needed
