Description:
The Fleet Operations Manager is responsible for the administration and control of mobile fleet. This responsibility includes input or vehicle procurement, vehicle replacement, repair and maintenance, fuel usage/tracking, insurance and DOT compliance. This position will also purchase consumables and equipment as need.
Essential Functions:
Monitor and maintain mobile and construction equipment fleet (~350 assets) to maximum utilization efficiency.
Administer and maintain fleet fuel card program to ensure proper usage of fuel cards by drivers.
Maintain DOT compliance for entire fleet including driver records.
Process requisitions from the operations to supply temporary vehicles on an as requested basis.
Direct and manage third-party rental equipment administration.
Process invoices for payment purposes regarding vehicle repairs, fuel and DOT related costs.
Negotiate pricing with new vendors (e.g. fuel card program, repairs) on an as need basis.
Perform additional responsibilities, as required.
Purchase consumables that meet cost-efficiency, timeliness, and quality requirements, while meeting specification and purchasing procedure requirements.
Manage day to day activities of shop personnel to optimize field and warehouse operation efficiencies.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in fleet management preferably in the construction/industrial area.
Experience in purchasing and industrial sales environment required.
Ability to work well with and support internal customers, third-party vendors and MSICI divisional field operations.
Computer skills include some use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, the Internet and Penta management.
Strong communication and negotiation skills are necessary.
Demonstrated dependability and self-motivation to work on projects; take initiative to resolve problems; understand resources available and use resources effectively to generate solutions
