Summary Description of Position
Under minimum supervision, moves drill to designated location within the quarry and safely maneuvers into position to drill blast holes. Operates unit to drill holes according to drill pattern. Maintains bits, hammers and steel tubes and can change steels as needed. Driller must coordinate with the Lead Driller to ensure all Drill & Blasting Standards are followed.
Driller inspects and maintains drill’s mechanisms, lubricant systems and fluid levels. Makes minor repairs by replacing gaskets, filters, hoses, etc. Must complete drilling and blasting reports as required. Driller coordinates with Lead Driller and maintains drilling supplies inventory. Trains and directs the work of drill helpers, plus provides specific drill task training to drill helpers as needed. Assists in drill and blast pattern design layout. Driller must be willing to travel as needed.
Highway drills on occasion are moved from one plant location to another as required. (CDL license will be required, within 6 months of employment, which includes medical certification and compliance with all FDOT Standards)

Maintain good housekeeping practices in plant, tool and shop areas.
Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspection and complete daily equipment reports.
Maintain proper tool inventory for specified jobs.
Maintain appropriate maintenance, safety and environmental reports and records.
Perform a variety of duties as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements
A minimum of two years of experience
Acceptable performance, maintenance and safety history
Exhibit high levels of competence, skill and proficiency
