Main Purpose Of Position:
Ensure maximum reliability of mechanical equipment
Maintain mechanical equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Attend to breakdowns, investigate and trace faults
Decide whether a fault is a planned maintenance problem or should it be attended to immediately
Perform all maintenance tasks in the section allocated to him
Make proposals to modify equipment for better performance or safety improvements to the Engineering Supervisor
Keep the working area clean
Perform ‘Lock-out’ when working on equipment by following written procedures
Perform standby duties as per Standard Operation Procedures.
Participate in all aspects of current planned maintenance system
Participate in the company’s Safety Programme by adhering to safety regulations and attending safety meetings
Report to supervisor when plant or part of it has to be stopped for maintenance purposes
Assist in training of apprentices and other when required
Perform any other reasonable tasks when requested by Supervisor
Qualifications And Experience:
Matric
N3 Certificate
Fitter & Turner Trade Certificate + minimum 3 years’ experience
Technical & Personal Skills Requirements:
Good knowledge of mechanical equipment
Strong trouble shooting and analytical skills
Hands on experience
Energetic
Reliable
Innovative
Team worker
Driver’s license – Code 08
Own transport
Medically fit
