Role Details
Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking an Infrastructure Technician to join their Mining team at Agnew Gold Mine.
Reporting to the Unit Manager Underground Mining, you will be responsible for assisting the Infrastructure Engineer in facilitating the optimal extraction of gold ore from the underground mining operations. This will be achieved through the provision of comprehensive design and implementation of infrastructure in the mine. This includes ensuring ventilation, paste backfill, water pumping and power are provided in a safe, environmentally compliant and efficient manner.
This role is offered on an 8/6 Fly in Fly out roster from Perth.
Key responsibilities will include:
Contributing towards the development of infrastructure plans, both short and long term and assist engineers with development and issue of plans;
Improving the delivery of service and overall effectiveness of the mining team by providing support and assistance in related areas as directed;
Providing supervision in the implementation and execution of plans and follow up with Quality Control inspections as directed;
Complete all administrative requirements associated with procedural review, development of plans using computer software;
Procurement of parts, materials and creation of work orders through SAP;
Adhering to all task instructions and procedures when carrying out operational tasks relating to ventilation, water, power and paste seeking advice from the Infrastructure Engineer and Mine Foreman as required;
Ensuring a safe work environment by ensuring work areas are kept clean, tidy and free of hazards.
Key factors to your success include;
Minimum 3 years previous experience in underground operations is essential
Paste plant and refrigeration plant operational experience
Completion of Ventilation Technician Course
Demonstrate knowledge and experience using Microsoft based programs;
Holding a valid WA C class driver’s license;
Holding relevant mining tickets such as Working at Heights and Senior First Aid is essential.
