Business Analyst Job
Education
- A degree from a Canadian or U.S. University
- MBA Preferred
- Short term travel to the US is required. Candidates qualifying for TN Visa are preferred
Experience
- At least 5 years work experience as a Business Analyst
- Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Must have experience leading the Requirements Gathering sessions of a large software development project
- Knowledge of CRM and Marketing technologies (Epiphany, Unica, Omniture, SPSS, etc.)
- Business process re-engineering
- Develop and present End-User training sessions
Skills
Non-Technical
- Excellent communication and presentation skill both oral/written
- Strong analysis skills. Able to take complex business needs and translate them to technical requirements
- Teamwork and cooperation
- Solid understanding of project management and risk mitigation
Technical
- MS Excel: Expert at manipulating data to understand results.
- MS Word, Power Point, Visio: Understand how to use these tools together to creatively present ideas and results.
Definition and Consulting
- Analyze business needs and users, identify and document business requirements and specifications of products and processes.
- Prepare documentation on the project vision, develop and demonstrate the requirements from prototypes and use cases
- Participate in defining the scope of the requirements and objectives related to the project, according to the needs of users by leveraging its deep knowledge of processes and business systems, systems requirements and industry, and recommend and business solutions and systems.
- Develop and manage the functional requirements for applications and their traceability.
- Review requests for changes in track and communicate results to all participants. Assess the risks associated with change requests. See the provision of all required documents relating to the needs and processes.
- Collaborate with development team to produce the most effective solutions available. Provide feedback on product development and services (agreement on the quality of service).
- Develop, monitor and support the requirements of quality assurance.
- Keep track of defects identified during testing.
