Description

This position is responsible for receiving customer orders and scheduling trucking for delivery of rock, sand and asphalt. Individual assures the correct products and quantities are delivered in a timely manner; maintains records of daily sales orders; responds to customer questions and concerns by phone and in person to maintain good customer relations; and works with job site and sales representatives, plant managers and quality control to address customer concerns. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Two plus years’ experience that has included dispatching, customer relations, and construction/transportation is required. Previous administrative and sales experience is preferred. Telephone, keyboard, computer and 10-key operator experience is required.

Special Skills and Requirements:

Knowledge of ready mix concrete, paving and construction materials; trucks and transportation requirements and regulations. Skill in using computers to record information and create reports; providing excellent customer service by phone and in person; making basic mathematical computations; scheduling and organizing large numbers of people and equipment efficiently and quickly; reading maps. Ability to communicate effectively with customers as well as truckers; work independently and make decisions; memorize and recall detailed information.
