Summary Description of Position

The QC Technician provides plant and customer support for product shipments. Individual will perform physical testing on various construction aggregates. Responsibilities include conducting quality tests in the field, providing critical data necessary for production control, and customer service.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Testing: Follow set procedures to perform physical testing on various construction aggregates. Be exact in their work.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely records on all technical data.
Problem Solving: Investigate and analyze quality problems, recommend solutions, and ensure corrections are made.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Skills Required

Education:

Associates Degree preferred. High School Diploma or its equivalent with good math skills is required.

License:

Valid Driver’s License to travel between facilities

Experience:

Manufacturing experience in a technical related position focusing on quality preferred.　　

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to use standard computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
Ability to do computer data entry and perform statistical analyses on data sets a plus.　
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
Must represent VMC in a professional manner to all customers, vendors, and internal personnel.

Physical Requirements:

Use of telephone, computers, cell phones and other electronic devices is essential.　
Must be physically able to work outdoors in all climate conditions, walk up and down stairs, and lift samples of up to 60 lbs.
Perform certain physically demanding tasks necessary to pulling and handling samples of crushed stone and performing tests on same.
